Lexington, NC April 18, 2011 – Mayoral candidate, Newell Clark, will be participating in the Inaugural BBQ Capital Cook-off, April 22-23, 2011, as a certified barbeque judge. Clark was certified by The Kansas City Barbeque Society after taking a class to learn how to grade various types of barbeque on the basis of appearance, taste and tenderness.

“Growing up in Lexington, there’s never been a doubt that I have a palette for great barbeque. As a certified judge, I’m able to get involved in this wonderful community event and see first hand the hard work that goes into making delicious barbeque. And I will try to not have an obvious bias to Lexington-style barbeque,” said Clark with a grin.
